Academic career

I teach web-design for educators as well, so it's online design and in-home design that I'm "good at" in that sense.

I have met a lot of teachers who want to learn how to use certain web tools and create their own websites, etc., and that website (again, my design) takes them to my other side project - tutoring and small group learning for professional development and educational technology.

My own web site that I created for myself:  www.ericaeducator.com

Erica’s Academic career

Erica is the founder of Teachers@Play.  She holds a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education with an academic major in English; a Masters Degree in Reading Specialization; a Masters Degree in Educational Administration with a focus on School Business Administration from Kean University.  She is currently pursuing her PhD in Education with a focus on Literacy Studies from Rutgers University.  Her dissertation research focus is on teacher-gamers and their videogame literacy practices–specifically, how these out-of-school activities impact their pedagogy.

Please meet Trick and Treat - New Halloween Carving - New Etsy Listing

Its Halloween night and everyone is out Trick or Treating!

But Haggy took it on step further she brought her two ghouls “Trick” and “Treat” and if Treat comes back with no candy from a house she will send Trick and who knows what he will do!

So, remember to have treats on Halloween night because they could show up at your door.

Haggy's bad eye matches her personality "Batty"
The top of the Cypress Knee was a nice big area for a face that just scream WITCH!
The Cypress Knee had two ridges at the bottom which fit perfect for the two ghouls!
Hope everyone in blogland has a happy 4th of July!

Shop Update for July and August about Holiday Wood Carvings

Shop Update:
I’ll be listing New Christmas and some Halloween Carvings for the rest of June and July.  My fall shows start in September and I would like to give my Internet Customers first chance at my new Santa carvings before the Fall shows start.  They are one of a kind and no patterns are used so they can’t be duplicated.

So you can check my Etsy shop out or you can check out my Facebook business page for updates every week!  The links for my Etsy Shop and Facebook business are on the right side of my blog screen for the links.

Just added these Santa Carvings this week and who knows Halloween might be showing up!

Have a great weekend!

WIP – Rock and Roll Santa - 2

Little bit more progress on the Rock and Roll Santa

I'll be using the natural ridges of the cypress knee for the back of Santa's coat to show the flow of the fabric.

The face is in stages of roughing out and then I'll will be adding detail.

That's it for now and happy creating to everyone in Blogland!
